Companion Care & Daily Check-Ins
Steady company, conversation, and a watchful eye on how the day is going.
Hi, I'm Jen. For more than a decade I've been a steady, calm presence for older adults and their families — providing dependable, dignified care so loved ones can age comfortably in the place they know best.
A decade of caregiving experience, grounded in patience, presence, and a deep belief that older adults deserve to feel known.
I came to caregiving the way I came to most meaningful things in my life: by being asked, and showing up. Over the past ten years I've cared for elders managing everything from gentle aging to advanced needs, and what I've learned is that the work is rarely about tasks. It's about presence.
I'm calm, dependable, and unhurried. I read aloud, I cook a real breakfast, I notice when the light's right for a slow walk. When I'm not working, you'll find me on a trail somewhere in the Cascades or the Olympics — backpacking is my reset button, and I think it's part of why I do this work the way I do.
Caring for someone you love is one of the most tender responsibilities there is. If you're looking for someone trustworthy to share a little of that weight, I'd be glad to talk.
Care is shaped around the person. Below are the supports I most often provide — we'll tailor the right mix together.
Steady company, conversation, and a watchful eye on how the day is going.
Real, comforting food made at home — adapted for tastes, diets, and energy levels.
Gentle, on-time reminders and tracking, with clear notes back to family.
Appointments, groceries, the bank, the pharmacy — there and back, unrushed.
Safe, encouraging help with walks, stretches, and staying steady on the feet.
A quiet, attentive presence through the night for peace of mind on both sides.
Time outside — a park bench, a slow garden loop, fresh air done at your pace.
Tidy kitchens, fresh laundry, made beds — keeping home feeling like home.
Three things I won't compromise on, no matter what the day looks like.
Aging asks us to slow down. I match the pace of the person I'm with — not the schedule on the wall. There's almost always time for the second cup of coffee.
How someone is helped matters as much as what they're helped with. I work with care, with humor, and with deep respect for who someone has been and continues to be.
Families deserve to feel informed, never anxious. I keep notes, return calls, and tell you what I'm seeing — the small wins and the things worth watching.
Caregiving, at its best, is just paying attention. Everything good follows from that.
